BRIT Awards 2007 (who i think should win)

Best British Album - Artic Monkeys, they brought something new to the scene in my opinion.
Best British Male - Lemar, i'm a big Lemar fan so he's gotta be up there or Paolo Nutini, went to see him in concert and he was quality, the album is also really good. Noteable mention to James Morrison, some good tracks on his album.
Best British Female - Corinne Bailey Rae, the album just speaks for itself. Notebale mention to Nerina Pallot, great voice.
Best British Band - Artic Monkeys again.
Best British Breakthrough Act - Corinne Bailey Rae or The Kooks, so many catchy tunes. Noteable mention to The Fratelli's they have started to breakthrough now.
Best British Single - The Kooks, She moves in her own way, makes you wanna get up and dance!
Best British Live Act - Kasabian or Muse, definatley not Robbie Williams!
Best International Male - Tough field, could be any of the four but Bob Dylan. I'm gonna go with Justin Timberlake although i wasn't overly impressed with the new album.
Best International Female - It has to be Nelly Furtado, what a year shes had releasing some great tracks, lot of credit has to go to Timbaland though.
Best International Group - Gnarl's Barkley, a good year for the two.
Best International Breakthrough Act - Gnarls Barkley or Scissor Sisters.

I don't expect many of these to go to the people i have said, but in an ideal world...........

Favourite Albums of 2006

1. Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly - Chronicle of a Bohemian Teenager
Sam Duckworth better known as the alias Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly released his debut album in 2006, although the album did not sell that many has recieved rave reviews in magazines such as NME (was in the top 100 album list for 2006). This album is a sort of indie album but in my opinion more vocally friendly, it was all recoreded in his bedroom studio. A few of my favourite tracks on the album are the lively and very catchy track 'An oak tree' and 'War of the worlds'. I love this album because of Sam's great lyrics and also the brilliant guitar riffs that he creates, this is why it is my favourite album of 2006.

2. Corinne Bailey Rae
Her debut self titled album was released at the beginning of 2006 and went on to become a massive success not only in the UK but in America, it became double platinum. It took me a while to get into this album at first but as i started to listen to it for a while it grew on me and i had it in my car cd player for months! Almost every track on the album is worth a listen but i do have a few favourites, these are; the third single 'trouble sleeping', the very thoughtful 'Choux pastry heart' and 'Breathless' to name a few. I personally feel that Corinne is the most talented female vocalist in the UK at the moment and would strongly recommend this album to anyone intrested in soul, Jazz and Blues. A great listen!
3.Lupe Fiasco - Food and Liquor
Fiasco is an american rapper with very thoughtful lyrics. His debut album 'Food and Liquor' was produced by some well known producers namingly the Neptunes and Kanye West, you can diffently here some of the neptunes catchy beats on tracks like 'I Gotcha' and the brilliant sampling on the track 'Daydreaming'. This together with the great lyrics on tracks like 'He Say She Say' creates a great album. The album also features cameos from artists such as Pharrell and Jay-Z. In my opinion top class album!
